AGC PHC, MGGI, and GQ Philippines teams celebrate the launch with cover stars Darren Criss and Erwan Heussaff
Published by Mega Global Group, Inc. (MGGI), a subsidiary of AGC Power Holdings Corp. (AGC PHC), GQ Philippines is the latest addition to MGGI’s growing portfolio of global media brands. Its arrival further expands MGGI’s presence in the international media space, following the launches of Vogue Philippines and Allure Philippines, while creating another platform for Filipino talent, stories, and perspectives to connect with a global audience.

GQ Arrives With a Distinctly Filipino Perspective
The evening also marked the official reveal of GQ Philippines’ maiden issue and its cover stars: Jordan Clarkson, Darren Criss, and Erwan Heussaff. Their respective covers set the tone for the title’s distinctive Filipino take on men’s style, culture, ambition, and influence, bringing together three Filipino figures whose careers and identities extend across sports, entertainment, and lifestyle.

At the launch, AGC PHC Chairman and CEO Archie G. Carrasco positioned GQ Philippines as more than the introduction of a global title to the local market. He described it as an opportunity to create a stronger connection between Filipino creativity and the international media landscape, giving local talent and stories a platform that can reach beyond the Philippines.

“The opportunity is not simply to bring GQ to the Philippines. It is to bring the Philippines to GQ—and, through GQ, to the world. We want to create a platform where Filipino talent, creativity, and culture can be seen, heard, and appreciated on a global scale. GQ Philippines gives us the opportunity to tell our stories with a distinctly Filipino voice while being part of a conversation that reaches far beyond our shores,” Carrasco said.
This ambition reflects the broader direction of MGGI’s growing portfolio, which brings together established international media brands with Filipino editorial perspectives.
Danyl Geneciran Leads GQ Philippines
GQ Philippines brings a Filipino perspective to the global conversation on modern masculinity, exploring the ideas, culture, fashion, entertainment, and ambitions shaping men today. Under Editor-in-Chief Danyl Geneciran, this perspective is rooted in the realities and experiences of Filipino men while remaining connected to the wider global conversation.
For him, GQ Philippines’ approach to the modern man is not about prescribing what masculinity should look like, but about exploring the realities and experiences of men today: “What we try to do at GQ Philippines is to find a different perspective on the lives of men, their realities, complexities, and experiences. We’re not here to tell men how to be better or become an instruction manual for masculinity, but to highlight remarkable men, their success, their realities, and who they already are.”

The evening also marked Geneciran’s official welcome as Editor-in-Chief of GQ Philippines. With over a decade of experience in fashion publishing and editorial direction, his career spans New York to Manila, including roles as Global Fashion Editor and Editor of Vogue Man Philippines.
Working alongside Geneciran is an editorial and creative team with extensive experience across publishing, media, production, and visual storytelling. Chino Hernandez serves as Deputy Editor, Peejo Pilar as Managing Editor, and Marc Yellow as Art Director, together helping shape GQ Philippines’ editorial voice, day-to-day operations, and visual identity across its platforms.

MGGI Chief Content Officer Bea Valdes welcomed Geneciran to the role, highlighting the significance of his leadership as GQ Philippines begins its Philippine chapter: “With steady calm and singular vision, he is helping usher in the future we have long been waiting for.”
Building a Stronger Global Media Presence
The launch brought together the wider MGGI community, including editors and leaders across its portfolio, alongside representatives from Condé Nast and other partners who gathered to mark the brand’s arrival in the Philippines.

For MGGI, the launch represents another step in its continued expansion of global media brands in the country, while reinforcing its focus on developing local editorial voices and creative talent.
As GQ Philippines begins its journey, its ambition extends beyond the local market. It joins a dynamic Southeast Asian region with a rapidly growing cultural and creative landscape, positioning the Philippines as an increasingly important voice in the global conversation.

GQ Philippines is now live across its digital platforms, bringing a Filipino perspective to the global conversation on men, style, culture, and influence. Its maiden print issue is also available through SariSari.Shopping, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
