Rolling Stone Philippines Premieres Its First Issue

Rolling Stone Philippines officially launched its print platform with three magazine covers featuring Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Maria Ressa, John Lloyd Cruz – the greatest actor of his generation, and Philippine rock icons The Eraserheads. To mark its arrival, Rolling Stone Philippines launched its maiden issue with a whole day event last March 21, 2025 at the Maybank Performing Arts Theatre in Bonifacio Global City.

Setting the tone for the launch, Rolling Stone Philippines Publisher Anne Bernisca emphasized the brand’s unwavering commitment to fearless, thought-provoking storytelling, “Rolling Stone, although synonymous with rock and roll, has always been more than just about music. It has been a platform for artists and figures who shape our world, the stories that define our times, and the conversations that challenge us to think differently.”

Chief of Editorial Content Jonty Cruz further highlighted the brand’s goals of amplifying voices that spark cultural change: “At Rolling Stone Philippines, our goal is to showcase the rockstars across culture, film, music, and social affairs.”

True to form, the event brought together prominent thought leaders and icons in media, film, sports, and music:

Atom Araullo moderated a panel of media greats consisting of Sonny Coloma, Ivan Mayrina, and Ricky Carandang on Journalism in the Digital Age.
Marketing leaders Emily Abrera, Tats Cruz, Jeano Cruz, and Cristela Magpayo-Cervantes discussed the “Transformation of Advertising,” facilitated by transformative marketing leader Cynthia Dayco.
Host and triathlete Paolo Abrera led a discussion on the “Spirit of Winning” with renowned athletes Steven Füglister, EJ Obiena, Alyssa Valdez, Gabe Norwood, and Hidilyn Diaz.
Chefs and F&B innovators joined celebrity chef and video creator Erwan Heusaff to talk about the  Evolution of the Food Industry. The panel consisted of food and beverage chefs and innovators Josh Boutwood, Miko Calo, Bruce Ricketts, Jae De Veyra Pickrell, Rachel Carrasco, Eric Teng, and Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.

Music masterminds Francis Lumen and Rico Gonzales were joined by Combo on the Run director Diane Ventura and Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia to discuss movies and music.

After all the talks, event-goers were treated to an all-90s DJ set by Raimund Marasigan – a perfect intro to the epic Eraserheads performance that closed the day.
