On June 12, Philippine Independence Day, MEGA Ball 2026 gathered actors from Philippine cinema and television, alongside designers, performers, and creatives from the fashion, film, entertainment, and cultural industries, at The Rizal Ballroom of The Makati Shangri-La for an evening celebrating Filipino storytelling and artistry.

MEGA Ball 2026 explored the intersection of two powerful creative forces through this year’s theme, Fashion+Film. It highlighted how fashion and cinema work together to express identity, emotion, and culture, with film bringing stories to life while fashion provides a visual language that enhances storytelling.
Celebrating the Legacy of MEGA Ball
For 16 years, MEGA Ball has served as a platform that brings together influential voices across industries and has evolved into a celebration of different creative disciplines, recognizing the people and movements that influence Filipino fashion and culture—from fashion and art to food, dance, and film—while highlighting creativity as a force that shapes narratives and connects communities. This year’s celebration honored the enduring impact of Philippine cinema and the women whose stories, vision, and contributions continue to define the industry.

Each year, this vision is shaped through the collective efforts of MEGA’s editorial, marketing, and sales teams, as well as AGC Power Holdings Corp.’s Events Production team, alongside external collaborators and partners who work together to deliver a meaningful celebration of Filipino artistry. Through shared dedication and collaboration, MEGA Ball continues to grow as a platform that honors creativity and storytelling.
The teams behind MEGA Ball 2026
Reflecting on the significance of the event, MEGA Editor-in-Chief Peewee Reyes-Isidro shared that the success of the night goes beyond scale and visibility, but lies in its ability to inspire appreciation for Filipino creativity.

“If MEGA Ball 2026 leaves someone with a renewed appreciation for fashion, a deeper respect for film, or a stronger belief in the power of Filipino artistry, then we have done what we set out to do. More than anything, success means continuing the legacy of MEGA—not simply documenting culture, but helping move it forward,” she shared.
Honoring Filipino Stories and Women in Cinema
Coinciding with Philippine Independence Day, MEGA Ball 2026 reflected on the importance of preserving Filipino stories and recognizing the individuals shaping the country’s creative landscape.
In his opening remarks, AGC PHC Chairman and CEO Archie G. Carrasco shared a message on the Filipino experience and collective identity:

Archie G. Carrasco
“Tulad ng pelikulang Pilipino, ang ating kwento bilang isang bansa ay puno ng tagumpay, kabiguan, pag-asa, at muling pagbangon. At naniniwala ako na ang pinakamagandang kabanata ng ating kwento ay hindi pa nasusulat. Sama-sama nating ipagdiwang ang ating kalayaan, ang ating kultura, at ang walang-hanggang diwang Pilipino,” Carrasco shared.
His message underscored the spirit of MEGA Ball as a celebration shaped by collaboration, vision, and a shared commitment to Filipino creativity across its 16-year history.

The evening also honored women in cinema and television, with actress and Co-Chair Iza Calzado highlighting the importance of supporting creatives who continue to shape the industry.
Another key moment of the night was the presentation of the Icon Award to Charo Santos-Concio, recognizing her decades-long contributions to Philippine film and television as an actress, producer, and industry leader. Santos-Concio also graced the cover of MEGA’s June 2026 Special Issue, where she reflected on her journey in the industry, the power of Filipino stories, and the enduring value of artistry.
