Delish Philippines Unveils Maiden Issue with a Feast of Filipino Flavors and Stories

Delish Philippines officially launched its maiden issue on July 15, 2026, at The Elements at Centris, bringing together chefs, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, industry partners, and members of the media for an evening that celebrated not only Filipino cuisine, but the stories, traditions, and communities that define it.

An Evening of Filipino Flavors

Guests enjoyed a curated selection of Filipino hors d’oeuvres and regional flavors upon arrival, offering a fitting introduction to the culinary celebration that followed.

The evening began as the Lyceum Dance Group led guests from the reception area into the main hall through a vibrant performance. Dressed in elaborate, festival-inspired Filipino costumes, the dancers transformed the entrance into a theatrical spectacle that paid tribute to the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Inside, the evening continued with a specially prepared dinner by three acclaimed chefs representing the country’s major island groups: Chef Bettina Arguelles for Luzon, Chef Francis Lacson for Visayas, and Chef Miggy Moreno for Mindanao. Their menu reflected the diversity of Filipino flavors and regional culinary traditions, echoing the publication’s vision of showcasing the country’s expansive food landscape.

More Than a Food Magazine

In his welcoming remarks, Delish Philippines Chief of Editorial Content Angelo Comsti shared the inspiration behind the publication, challenging the common perception of Filipino cuisine.

“Filipino cuisine isn’t one cuisine—it’s thousands of stories,” Comsti said, emphasizing that every region, family, ingredient, and tradition contributes to the country’s rich culinary identity.

He also spoke of the farmers preserving rare crops, bakers continuing time-honored techniques, home cooks keeping family recipes alive, and chefs rediscovering forgotten ingredients—all of whom deserve to be recognized alongside the dishes they create.

“Food has always been our most honest storyteller,” he said. “It tells us where people came from, who traded with whom, which ingredients survived wars, how geography shaped culture, and perhaps most importantly, how people gathered.”

The evening culminated with the unveiling of the maiden issue through an audiovisual presentation, followed by a ceremonial reveal as servers presented copies of the magazine to guests—marking the official introduction of Delish Philippines to the local media landscape. Throughout the evening, one message remained at the heart of the celebration: Filipino food is inseparable from the people and cultures that sustain it.

“Delish Philippines isn’t simply about publishing recipes or restaurant reviews,” Comsti said. “It’s about documenting a living culture and preserving knowledge before it’s forgotten.”

Delish Philippines Publisher Randolf Palanca also expressed his hope that the publication inspires readers to take greater pride in Filipino cuisine and the heritage it represents: “Our cuisine is more than a collection of recipes or regional specialties—it is a living expression of our culture, identity, history, and values,” he said. “By preserving our food, we preserve our identity—and ensure that our stories continue to be shared with the world.”

As the newest title under One Mega Group Inc., Delish Philippines aims to preserve and celebrate the people, places, and traditions that shape Filipino cuisine.
